Job summary
This post works across the professions of Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy. The post holder will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist, but will autonomously manage their own caseload, providing direct Therapy interventions for identified patient groups. They will be responsible for the entire patient journey from assessment through treatment to discharge. They will work closely with patients, their families and/or carers, Therapy colleagues and the wider MDT, as well as liaising externally with colleagues in social services, Primary care, community services, voluntary organisations and other agencies as required. They will support Band 3 Therapy Assistants working in their clinical area.
Main duties of the job
We have a fantastic opportunity to appoint two Full Time Assistant Therapy Practitioners, both 12-month fixed term contracts, to our dynamic Medicine Team at Russells Hall Hospital.
The posts are 37.5 hours each and both post holders will have the opportunity to work across medicine specialities including Renal, Dementia, Elderly Care, Oncology, and Gastroenterology. You will work closely with our team of Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and support staff as well as the wider multidisciplinary team.
We are looking for a enthusiastic, well-motivated people with Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy assistant experience. Excellent communication skills, flexibility in working approach and an enthusiasm for the role and helping others are essential.
Within your scope of practice, you will carry an independent caseload with support from qualified staff, involving assessment, treatment, and discharge planning with people with a wide variety of conditions and needs. You will need to manage your own time effectively and enjoy working both independently and as part of a team.
