Job summary
The IT department is responsible for delivering information technology to The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust (DGFT). In addition, IT is responsible for delivering revenue generating IT services to other NHS organisations and private enterprises involved in the delivery of healthcare.
The post holder will have experience in software development, excellent organisational skills, and knowledge of software system design, governance, and robust quality management systems. A background in healthcare information technology is important, but not essential.
Main duties of the job
The Application Developer will be an IT professional contributing to enterprise system development and integration. The post-holder will join the IT development team, and work closely with IT senior leadership, the digital portfolio team, the infrastructure team, and programme leadership to deliver safe and effective systems at DGFT. They will:
- Work through the entire software development lifecycle, which includes requirements analysis, design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Contribute to and support new front- and back-end software solutions across multiple platforms (including desktop, web, and mobile) to provide Trust staff with appropriate, accessible, and timely information.
- Maintain and support existing and legacy software solutions and platforms.
- Support clinical teams in developing the Trust electronic patient record (EPR), including standard supplier provisions and Trust bespoke configurations.
