Job summary
The department is a vascular hub for the region and participates in the Black Country Alliance service, which provides a 24/7 on call service for both vascular and non-vascular emergency procedures.
The post holder will support the nurse in charge in the delivery of high quality care and provision of a continuous efficient and effective service.
Provide supplementary leadership to the nursing team, keeping Departmental and Trust objectives in focus.
Supervise, manage and develop the nursing team in line with the direction of the Lead Nurse.
Facilitate ongoing professional development of newly appointed staff, junior or less experienced Nurses, Imaging Aides , Student Nurses and Radiographers/Radiography Students in according to the Trust polices and procedures.
Maintain high standards by keeping abreast with best practice and research.
Support service improvement programme, actively participate in Data Collection, and Meetings as required.
Main duties of the job
As a clinical Lead Nurse you will be expected to enthusiastic and be driven to provide emergency and elective procedures within Radiology.
The Interventional team is a small team within the wider radiology department who provide diagnostic and interventional procedures in the angiography suite, CT ,USS and occasional in theatres.
Our service promotes a dedicated highly trained and motivated team that enables those vital life prolonging or saving procedures to be done.
The radiology department is a leading vascular unit and work in collaboratively with or vascular surgeon to provide outstanding vascular procedures.
Experience of working is radiology is essential for this post ,opportunity to expand and develop your scope of practice will enhance your clinical skills.
The role will include Nurse sedation, recovery of local , sedation and general anaesthetic procedures.
The opportunity to become a nurse prescribe is also an essential part of this role.
We have a fully competency training package and once completed you will support our on-call service.
In summary we are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced interventional nurse with opportunity to develop and expand your role in the interventional suite and interventional procedures in the other areas of the service.
