Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust will be working with the Kent & Medway Cancer Alliance to launch the Lung Cancer Screening Programme (LCSP). The post holder will be working within a newly developed team, working collaboratively with the LCSP Programme Manager, nursing colleagues, respiratory team, community colleagues to support partnership working with the GP Practices and smoking cessation services. The LCSP service, will be based at the North Kent Community Diagnostic centre, owned and managed by the Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust.
The Kent and Medway Cancer Alliance is one of the phase 3 pilot sites for the national programme for LCSP. This programme will offer a lung health check and a subsequent low-dose CT scan if clinically indicated to eligible patients. The aim is to diagnose lung cancer at an early stage, improving treatment outcomes for patients. The LCSP programme will be offered to current and former smokers, aged between 55 and 74. In the Dartford Gravesham and Swanley area.
Main duties of the job
As Lung Cancer Screening Programme Coordinator you will be first point of contact for the patients identified for the programme. Conducting the telephone lung health checks, with patients and working closely with a clinical team to support the patient flow and experience. You will be responsible for supporting the admin and running of the Screening Review Meeting (SRM) and Multi-Disciplinary meeting (MDM).
