Job summary
The Theatre team at Queen Mary's Hospital, is extremely proud of their unit, and over the years the team have been instrumental in the development of the new Dartford & Gravesham Planned Care Centre.
The clinical services supported by the unit are going from strength to strength, and the Trust's service requirements have seen an increase from 2 theatres, to now operating 7 theatres. Two of these theatres are being utilized by Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, King's College NHS Foundation Trust and Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust as part of the 'Healthcare Alliance'.
We are currently seeking Senior Registered Nurses or Operating Department Practitioners with anaesthetic experience to enhance our Theatre Team. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone wishing to advance both their clinical and leadership skills. The candidates should be proactive and confident practitioners who are able to commit to this dynamic role and navigate the changing demands of today's healthcare environment.

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will work in Queen Marys Hospital, Main Theatres and has responsibility for the assessment and development of programmes of care, including monitoring standards of care. In addition, the post holder carries responsibility for deployment, supervision and teaching of multidisciplinary clinical staff and learners.

As a member of the multidisciplinary team, the post holder is expected to participate in the delivery of perioperative patient care, providing expert, holistic care of a high standard to both patients and their relatives whilst they are under the care of Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust.
To take direct managerial responsibility for the clinical area in the absence of or as delegated by the Departmental Coordinator.
To assist in the leadership and development of an identified group of practitioners within the Unit complement.
To act as a clinical resource within the Unit and across the Division as necessary.
To act as a positive role model to junior staff members.
Participate in cross site working where necessary. Carry out other duties, as may be required by Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust which fall within the grading of the post.
