  • Analyse and interpret complex data to provide actionable insights that enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with our Academy colleagues to ensure data-driven decisions across the Trust.
  • Support the digital roadmap and data transformation initiatives to improve our business intelligence service.
  • Help to identify and quantify benchmarking opportunities and productivity assessments within theatres.
  • Lead efforts to create a data-rich environment that fosters rapid decision-making.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be a key leading member of the Business Intelligence Team providing high quality information for key NHS Standards, Capacity Planning (including Benchmarking and productivity) and National Returns. The BI Lead Analyst will be responsible for the production of national returns and reports as directed by Principal analyst.

The post is to provide advanced analytical support, innovative ways of presenting information and develop new informative analyses in the monitoring of services across the trust. They will develop subject matter expertise in Trust data and standards, having a responsibility to support users to correctly capture data and apply the rules consistently.

A key aspect of the role will be to provide assistance in key areas of the information governance agenda and support the BI team in delivering improved data quality & reporting throughout the Trust.

The role will manage and mentor junior team members.

Provide specialist analytical support, interpretation and reporting. Communicate complex analytical/statistical results to a range of key stakeholders across the Trust. To present findings where appropriate.

Analyse, investigate and resolve complex statistical queries where there may be a range of solutions.

Ensure the continuing development and provision of health related information to support the Trust.

Produce high quality and timely information to support the Trusts Strategy and operational processes.

Analyse and interpret trends, advise on information for service planning, undertake activity forecasting, demand and capacity analysis as required.

Create reports and dashboards which support operational oversight and management of Diagnostic activity

Co-ordinate and summarise information from other departments.

Assist in interpreting analyses and adding intelligence by communicating complicated, difficult to explain IM&T issues to non IM&T staff and very detailed IM&T information within peer groups for areas of key responsibility.

Promote understanding of NHS Data Definitions, Models and Relationships and co-ordinate the implementation of any changes released nationally

Support the maintenance of central data files and reference tables on the Trusts Management Information System.

Develop and deliver formal and complex statistical presentations

Be the main point of contact for advising on and providing complex statistical analysis of Trust performance information
