Job summary
This post is a key role within our Estates, Facilities and Capital Projects directorate, and is an excellent opportunity for an inspirational, inclusive values-driven individual, with a strong track record in project and contract management and governance.
The Trust has a number of financially significant capital programmes, consisting of new builds, refurbishments, lifecycle and backlog, delivering priority projects linked to the Trust strategy and addressing Estates statutory compliance and growth.
The post holder will support the department in the procurement, contract development, monitoring and delivery of the entire supply chain for capital projects.
Main duties of the job
The Senior Project Manager role is to support the Director of Estates Facilities & Capital (DOEFC) in the management of the Estates and Facilities department.
To lead the department in managing the Capital Estates programme with The Hospital Company and their associated delivery partners.
To support the DOEFC in the management of the PFI contract and the EBME functions of the Estates Department.
To work closely with internal colleagues, PFI partners and external partners to ensure that all Estate and Facilities implications are considered as part of any service reconfiguration schemes and support the DOEFC in the development of the longer-term Estates strategy for the Trust.

Estates Capital Procurement
Estates Capital Programme. To lead procurement and contract terms of large capital projects and ensure successful delivery of the Trusts Capital investment programme, ensuring the successful delivery of the Capital Projects. All Projects are to be undertaken in line with the Trusts Estates Capital Procedures.
Liaison to ensure programme delivery to undertake all liaisons with PFI Partners and appointed sub-contractors in the execution of Capital Programme, ensuring the necessary contract variation instructions and Variation documentation is completed in line with Trust and THC requirements.
Consultation and Engagement. To undertake and manage the necessary consultation and engagement with all Divisions and departments to ensure the successful delivery of the capital schemes.
FM services. To ensure the schemes are designed and costed with the provision all FM services considered, so as to ensure the maintenance, lifecycle and safety of the hospital.
Variation process. To ensure all variation agreements include the legal provision with THC as well as managing the internal Trust governance approval processes in line with Standing Financial Instructions at the appropriate levels.
Commissioning of Works. To work with the Estates & Facilities team and end user departments to ensure the successful commissioning of all works.
Capital planning. To work with the DOEFC in developing the Estates Strategy and Site Development Plan to formulate the resultant Capital investment plan for the Trust.
