In the Women, Children, Radiology and Outpatient (WCRO) Division we have an exciting secondment opportunity for a band 5 Risk and Governance Facilitator.
We are offering a six-month learning opportunity for the right person to experience a different perspective to the clinical environment.
You will learn how to investigate and manage complaints and incidents, perform risk assessments and manage the risk register, this will ensure you play a key role in helping the division meet performance KPIs for local and national governance agendas. You will also see how the new Patient Safety Investigation Response Framework (PSIRF) supports families to understand how the NHS investigates incidents and helps them to come to terms when things go wrong by involving them at every stage.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will assist in embedding the corporate governance framework and oversee the divisional compliance with statutory, regulatory and best practice requirements in relation to governance and quality, working with the directorates to challenge risk mitigation and promoting a positive and open risk management ethos.
They will have a key role in supporting the governance and risk management agenda within the Children and Young People, Gynaecology and Radiology services, working with clinical leads and staff to create an integrated governance approach; supporting patient safety, patient experience, clinical effectiveness and high quality care within the Trust.
The Risk and Governance Facilitator will work collaboratively across the team providing support for the day to day delivery of the governance disciplines and to provide cover for periods of absence as delegated by the Divisional Governance Manager for WCR division.
The post holder will manage the resolution of complaints together with the Divisional Governance Manager to provide a professional and comprehensive service to patients and staff accessing the complaints system with a clear understanding of confidentiality and the need for discretion and sensitivity.
