Job summary
The Associate Director of Planning and Transformation will provide leadership and management across the Trust, driving the development of complex business cases, strategic partnerships, and transformational programmes. This role is pivotal in delivering the Trust's annual plans and 2030 Goals, ensuring alignment between financial and quality objectives, and fostering a culture that is commercially focused and patient-centric.
This position will not be supported for visa sponsorship. All applicants are expected to have valid right to work document to work in the UK when applying for this position.
Main duties of the job
Leading the ongoing development and implementation of the Trust's annual planning framework, including developing operational objectives with aligned quality, service and financial aims.
Play a key role in developing, supporting and maintaining strategic partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders, including developing shared strategic priorities and plans.
Horizon scanning and identification of emerging national policy and opportunities.
Driving transformation initiatives, managing the Programme Management Office, and ensuring effective governance across major programmes aligned with the Trust's strategy.
Collaborating with clinical divisions, corporate services, and the Executive team to enhance programme maturity, manage interdependencies, and avoid duplication.
Overseeing financial efficiencies, including the Trust's Efficiency Programmes, to deliver integrated outcomes that balance financial and quality goals.
Leading the strategic direction of the PMO and providing long-term management for transformation projects and portfolios.

Lead the development of strategic transformation plans within the Trust and local Place[1]based economy ensuring appropriate engagement of clinicians and service users as well as operational and corporate colleagues.

Development and maintenance of constructive and effective partnership relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders (NHS, Local Authority, Developers, Commercial Organisations etc.).
Ensure that the Trust has a clear strategy for partnering for commercial development
Ensure the Trust has a robust process in place for identifying and bidding for development opportunities through competitive tenders.
