A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a band 6 midwife to join our dynamic Core Birth Centre Team.

If so, we are looking for experienced, passionate midwives to join our established Birth Centre team and help us shape the future of our maternity services.

We embrace and support the use of non-pharmacological analgesia including immersion in water and the use of complementary therapies (aromatherapy, reflexology and hypnobirthing).

Main duties of the job
The primary aim of the role is to ensure that a high quality service is provided to women/ birthing people and their families and to give comprehensive midwifery care in a variety of settings but mainly in the alongside midwifery-led unit. To provide the highest standard of individualised and holistic patient care, in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team.
You will engage with women/ birthing people and their families to encourage and promote physiological birth, person centred care and be an advocate for women/birthing people and their families in their choices.
As a registered midwife you will be competent in the full range of midwifery skills including venepuncture, cannulation, perineal suturing, maternal and neonatal resuscitation and water births. A NIPE trained midwife is desirable but training can be provided. The midwife should be able to recognise complications and the deteriorating patient and be able to make decisions on care, including when to transfer to the delivery suite.
To supervise healthcare support workers, student midwives, and junior qualified staff.
