This isn't your run-of-the-mill data job. We're talking about being part of a major service transformation that'll support the Trust's strategic goals and lead us towards a data-rich future. You'll be the driving force behind our data quality and analytics service, developing our skills and capabilities to deliver a trusted data-rich environment in the organisation.

Data and Business Intelligence transformation is a key enabler at the heart of our 2030 strategic goals. We are dead set on becoming a truly data-driven organisation, with critical insights and intelligence to support rapid decision making and organisational direction.

We need a forward-thinking data whiz with analytical and SQL expertise, someone with a keen eye for detail and accuracy who has a knack for data visualisation and insights.

You'll be working with our Academy colleagues to make sure data insights are driving decisions across the board. And that data transformation steps together with our digital roadmap to deliver the efficiencies and improvements in our Digital and Data Transformation plans.

Main duties of the job

The role provides the Trust leadership for data quality and analytics; ensuring that analysts understand the accuracy of the data they are using and that the team identify our critical data elements in order to build robust data quality improvement plans. The role also acts as deputy tothe Head of Performance and BI.The post holder will be provide the operational leadership and line management of the analyticsteam. This team provides:

Divisional liaison for the BI service, supporting divisions to access and interpret their data.

Suites of dashboards and reports that support self-service access to key information for performance monitoring and operational decision making.

The publishing of the Trusts patient tracker lists to support the elective booking teams and divisional oversight against our constitutional access standards.

The cycle of sitrep reporting as required by regulators and commissioners, including processes to check, review and sign off within a scheme of delegated authority.

Subject Matter Expertise on constitutional standards, data rules and data dictionary, our local data lineage and quality and key benchmarking sources.

Lead bespoke pieces of analytics that support performance improvement initiatives, CIP and transformation programmes and data improvement initiatives.

Core Technical Responsibilities Analytics

Lead the team to ensure that data sources are understood and they are able to identify the best data source that will support the development of insights, whilst clearly identifying the data lineage, associated data quality and therefore confidence of the results produced.

Guide pieces of advanced analytics in response to specific requests, producing high-level reports that clearly communicate the findings to a non-expert audience so that the insights are understood.

Explain data patterns and their implications on interpretation to promote the use of data[1]driven decision making

Advise and support the team on the most appropriate analytical techniques, including advanced statistical analysis, the best presentation of the data and create a pool of expertise that can be harnessed to problem solve and create advanced analysis to drive organisational insights.

Lead a review of BI reports, seeking to rationalise, amalgamate and automate where possible, recording the efficiencies delivered in terms of resource hours.

Support a process for bespoke/adhoc reporting that ensures accurate extraction and processing of the data to provide comprehensive and timely reports.

Lead the programme of PowerBi dashboards for constitutional standards and operational performance management, ensuring full governance documentation and review processes in place as well as a forward planner to support the prioritisation of new developments.

Create a single oversight process that brings together all mandatory reporting requirements, supported standardised documentation and training materials, quality control checks and a formal scheme of delegated authority to support appropriate levels of sign off in a timely manner.

Prioritise resources and workloads across the analytics team to ensure Trust priorities and deadlines are met.

Ensure robust documentation to support all Trust statutory reporting, including associated training materials, with clearly identified critical data elements that supports the accuracy of our highest levels of reporting in the trust.

Deploy analytical analysis and statistical evaluation of data that supports operational decision-making, the Trust performance management framework and service improvement and transformation initiatives.

Provide the lead within BI for internal audit programmes, ensuring support for the analytics team in terms of responding to the information requests, interpreting and clarifying the findings and implementing any actions identified.

Engage with the wider analytics and data quality community, building a network of peers across the ICB and South East region.

  • Statistical Process Control training
  • Evidence of CPD
