This role will be pivotal in helping us to establish a culture of continuous improvement across our organisation and beyond.

The role will include; training and coaching staff of all levels, facilitating workshops and creativity and innovation sessions, working with leaders to establish improvement practices and much more. You will also have the opportunity to work with partners of Dartford and Gravesham Trust to build joined up processes and to build individual and team skills.

About you:

You will have a passion for improvement and enthusiasm that can inspire others. You will have a coaching mind-set, able to motivate and encourage others to achieve success. You will be a team player - focused on helping the team and the organisation to achieve their goals by working collaboratively towards common goals. Perhaps you are an experienced clinician, admin and clerical or other professional looking for a new challenge.

Main duties of the job

The CQI Catalyst will play a key role in establishing a culture of continuous improvement across the Trust and beyond. The two main focus areas for the CQI Catalyst within the CQI Team are:

  • Providing direct support and coaching to frontline services; facilitating the use of improvement tools and approaches and working with teams collaboratively to embed QI practices to deliver the highest quality outcomes for our patients
  • Building capability and capacity in our workforce through the delivery of improvement courses and improvement events, and via the establishment of the Improvement and Innovation Academy for creativity and innovation.

  • Evidence of continuing professional development in Quality Improvement
  • Evidence of significant experience practicing improvement methodology (e.g. Lean, IHI model for improvement) at practitioner/ green level or equivalent
  • Detailed understanding of the NHS

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Advanced communication skills both written (complex report writing) and spoken, including expert facilitation skills
  • Ability to present effectively to large groups including senior staff and external professional bodies
  • Ability to influence, negotiate with, and motivate senior managers and clinicians to enable the delivery of change programmes through developing and maintaining close working relationships
  • Manage and work through conflict situations
  • Advanced analytical and judgement skills including understanding and application of complex statistical and numerical data.
