Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Diabetes Specialist Nurse development role with the possibility of progressing to a band 7.
This is a full time position at 37.5 hours per week worked over 5 days, working with the Diabetes Nurse Specialists and multi-disciplinary teams.
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, motivated and autonomous individual, who is passionate about diabetes care. You should be able to prioritize and organise your workload, work under pressure and have a commitment to patient centred care.
The successful candidate must have some experience of developing and running nurse led clinics as this is an integral element of the role.
Main duties of the job
This is a band 6 development role with the possibility of progressing to band 7.
To work as a member of the diabetes multidisciplinary team by providing specialist knowledge and skills to improve the standards of care for patients with diabetes
To participate in the continued development of the diabetes services under the direction of the Lead Diabetes Specialist Nurse
To contribute towards the training and education of patients, carers and healthcare professionals within primary and secondary care setting
Aspects of the nurse specialist role will include inpatient, outpatient and MDT clinics (Young adult, Antenatal and pump).
