Clinical Engineering is a multidisciplinary field that encompasses the planning, development, and implementation of medical devices across the Trust to help support our patients. Main duties of the job
Responsible for ensuring the maintenance contract management of all of the Trust's medical equipment to include high and low risk devices with a wide scope, including Thermometry, Radiology, Patient Monitoring at all of the Trust sites.
To manage the Clinical Engineering service, external equipment contractors and support clinical teams to ensure contractual compliance and assurance to the Trust. The Post holder will ensure that the Trust receives the maximum benefit from its financial resources.
Responsible for providing and maintaining a comprehensive electro- biomedical equipment management service across the Trust, ensuring that medical and laboratory equipment is appropriately maintained within allocated budgets.
Lead on the process for the forward planning and appropriate allocation of capital and revenue funding for the replacement of Trust medical equipment.
Responsible for providing support to the Trust Procurement Department when procuring medical equipment to ensure appropriate vetting, standardization and trialling best service / solutions possible. To provide equipment technical and professional advice to support strategic planning of service provision and reconfiguration.
Responsible for managing the process of procuring medical and laboratory equipment by purchasing, leasing or via equipment contracts, ensuring the Trust obtains best value.

Lead on the medium and long term planning of equipment replacement, setting of capital budget allocations and ensuring that the Trust obtains maximum value for money.
