Medical Devices Integration System Engineer is a multidisciplinary field that encompasses the plan, development, and implementation of medical devices. It integrates engineering concepts, medical knowledge, regulatory compliance, and user-centred design principles to ensure the seamless functioning of complex medical systems. Main duties of the job
The post holder is expected to bridge the gap between I.T and medical device management with aiding the assistance in project managing, as part of a team, the connectivity and security of medical devices and their integration with clinical information systems in line with the Trust and NHS objectives. As well as provide support for the maintenance, servicing and repair of medical devices under the responsibilities of the Clinical Engineering department. Main location of work will be based at Newton's Court Crossways business park, however travel and working across all sites within the trust will be required.

Specific Responsibilities:
Proactively identify the needs of the Trust from medical devices connectivity point of view and produce an action plan, as part of a team, to meet these requirements.
Carry out the aforementioned action plan with close collaboration of other colleagues in the Clinical Engineering, IT department, Information Governance, Estates and Medirest.
As part of a team, maintain existing implemented connectivity systems and databases.
Manage data security risks related to medical devices.
Create and manage a risk based analysis system for medical devices.
Keep abreast of the latest scientific and technical developments relating to the integration of medical devices with clinical information systems.
Trial new technologies and techniques to help the Trust achieve a paperless solution whilst keeping the user interface to any implemented system as practical as possible.
Carry out allocated planned preventative maintenance to a range of patient connected medical devices.
Assist Clinical Engineering Senior Technicians where required.
Undertake occasional fault-finding and repairs. Apply suitable techniques to diagnose problems, including those beyond the scope of manufacturer supplied information. Report unusual fault conditions to manufacturers.
Carry out calibration, quality control, safety and acceptance testing.
Carry out appropriate equipment upgrades if required as directed by the Clinical Engineering Manager or Supervisor.
