Job summary
This new and pioneering role will help the NHS to evaluate how delivery of the People Promise impacts our staff experience and retention.
The People Promise is a promise we make to each other - to work together to improve the experience of working in the NHS for everyone.
The themes and words that make up Our People Promise have come from those who work in the NHS. People in different healthcare roles and organisations have made it clear what matters most to them, and what would make the greatest difference in improving their experience in the workplace. This is what we should all be able to say about working in the NHS, by 2024.
Embedded within our People HR team, and reporting on a matrix basis into the ICS Retention Lead and NHS England and NHS Improvement National Retention Programme, this role will have critical part to play in co-ordinating and embedding all elements of the NHS People Promise within our Trust and evaluating the outcomes.
Your experience in engaging key stakeholders, embedding change and collaborating across multiple teams and organisations will help you succeed in a fast-paced environment, whilst respecting the current operational pressures across our organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to local, regional and national work, improving staff experience and retention in the NHS.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for coordinating and embedding all elements of the NHS People Promise within the organisation. They will work collaboratively across the organisation and ICS (Integrated Care Systems) and with other designated People Promise Managers to maximise opportunities to retain staff across the NHS and Social Care.
They will also have colleagues doing the same role in other organisations regionally and nationally to relate to and to offer and receive support.
As well as being embedded into the organisation's structure, the post holder will operate on a matrix basis, managed by the ICS Retention SRO, and build strong relationships with the Regional Retention Manager and colleagues in the National Retention Programme as required.

We have signed the Armed Forces Covenant Pledge and have a commitment to the Armed Forces Community.
If you are considering applying for a role, please be aware that as an NHS Employee you may have contact with vulnerable service users. We strongly encourage that all our staff are vaccinated against COVID-19 and are vaccinated annually against Flu, in order to protect the health and safety of our staff and patients.
