An Exciting Opportunity within Surgery for a Band 6 on Rowan Ward.
Rowan Ward is an acute 30 bedded fast flowing, quick turnaround surgical ward, it is made up of 4 bays and 5 side rooms. Patients are admitted via both elective and emergency pathways for a range of surgical diagnoses and procedures relating to colorectal and general surgical needs.
Our patient stay can vary therefore a proactive attitude towards patient discharge, MDT focus, and an understanding of the operational pressures within the NHS is a must within this role.
Each of our patients has a unique journey involving many other allied health care teams, the careful co-ordination of a multitude of resources is key to ensuring each patient experience is a positive one and that their discharge home is timely and well supported.
Due to the nature of complex surgical needs of the patients staying on Rowan vast experience of caring for patients with complex needs following surgery is an essential criteria for this post.
This role requires excellent leadership and communication skills. The right candidate will bring enthusiasm to the team, will lead by example and be a clinical expert within one or all of the above mentioned surgeries. The candidate must have substantial experience at B5 in the acute setting and have proven evidence of self-development and innovation.

Main duties of the job
General Responsibilities:
