Job summary

Employee engagement is one of the most important indicators in gauging work satisfaction and driven by mounting evidence of the link between employee engagement and positive outcomes, it is increasingly seen as a priority to help staff retention and improve patient care.

We are looking to recruit an Employee Engagement Assistant who will provide support across a wide and exciting portfolio, with initiatives focused on staff within the workforce.

Main duties of the job

This multifaceted role is key in helping the Employee Engagement Manager deliver a range of engagement and benefits programmes across the Trust.

The nature of this role means that whilst the post holder will have key annual deliverables which must be achieved, there will be a requirement to become involved in other Engagement or Wellbeing initiatives as deemed appropriate.

The post holder would be required to stand in for the Employee Engagement Manager as and when required or necessary.

Job responsibilities

Key responsibilities:

Support the implementation of the annual NHS staff survey and the quarterly pulse (formerly the Staff friends and family) survey

Promote and have knowledge of the range of staff benefits both salary sacrifice schemes and other staff benefit schemes.

Assist with the successful delivery of a variety of Trust Recognition / Award events notably: Long Service Awards, Annual Staff Awards, Veteran Aware Accreditation and Best Dressed Christmas Ward competition plus ad-hoc events as requested by the Executive and Senior Teams.

Arrange for the purchase of relevant items (stationery, trophies, decorations) for events.

Ensure sufficient stock of Long Service Award Badges and Staff Recognition badges are held.

Work with the Employee Engagement Manager to improve the response rate of both the staff and pulse survey by visiting wards, speaking to staff members taking around tea trollies etc.
