Job summary

We are advertising for a Consultant in General Surgery - with Interest in Colorectal Surgery, 10PA's to provide clinical care for patients referred to Colorectal and General Surgery at Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust and other related activities to ensure a high standard of service and education. To contribute to the development, compliance and professional requirements of Trust priorities and policies.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking to appoint a substantive Colorectal and General Surgeon with a sub-speciality interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease, proctology and to support the national bowel screening service.

The appointee would be expected to be proficient in laparoscopic colorectal surgery. This is an expansion of the team, and the appointee will contribute to the emergency general surgery service, 1:8 weekdays and on a 1:11 weekends rota.

The new appointee will be expected to assist in the development and provision of the core colorectal and general services at Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust, contributing to the activity of the department and taking on other roles and responsibilities as required.

  • Research degree/MBA
