An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a band 3 Nursing Assistant to our Paediatric Emergency Department. We are a busy and dynamic department, managing over 30,000 paediatric patients each year. We are looking for an individual who is motivated, flexible and able to complement and support our existing team of nurses and doctors. You will need to have current acute experience in paediatrics. At interview, you must be able to demonstrate sound clinical knowledge and patient care. We encourage personal development within the Trust and, as part of your induction; you will need to complete a care certificate within 12 weeks of joining the trust.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Essential

  • NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards)
  • Good standard of literacy and numeracy (to be tested at interview)
  • Computer literacy

Desirable

  • STRS resuscitation simulation study day

KNOWLEDGE

Essential

  • Knowledge of paediatric ED environment and working practices
  • Knowledge of and experience in safeguarding children
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills ? Knowledge of principles of confidentiality
  • Knowledge and experience in paediatric basic and advanced life support
  • Knowledge and experience in paediatric basic and advanced life support
  • Advanced health care skills including, but not limited to; Phlebotomy, ECG, Plaster of Paris application, Wound care
