Job summary
Applications are invited for the post of Medical Education Fellow at Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust. The post holder will be eligible for a CT1 or above and have good experience of providing teaching. The role will allow for the opportunity to develop your teaching skills, extending knowledge of educational theory and undertaking educational research. It will suit an individual who has an interest in medical education and educational research alongside their clinical commitments.
We are looking for a Medical Education Fellow to join our cohesive team, working in the Education Department and in clinical areas helping to improve the postgraduate and undergraduate education through a variety of teaching modalities. The Medical Education Fellow will be delivering education sessions ranging from curriculum based learning to adhoc teaching sessions, responding to individual's needs as required.
Main duties of the job
The role will allow for the opportunity to develop teaching skills, extend knowledge of educational theory and undertaking educational research. It will suit an individual who has an interest in medical education and educational research alongside their clinical commitments.
The level will be CT1/2+/ST3 or equivalent. The Medical Education Fellow, as well as being responsible to the DME, will have an Education Supervisor to help with career progression. The post holder will also be supported by a dedicated team of Medical Education Officers.

- oEligible for Full GMC Registration and License to Practice at the time of appointment
- oDemonstrates excellent skills in spoken and written English to be able to teach medical topics efficiently
- oEligible for a CT1
Desirable
- oMRCP/MRCPCH (or part of), MRCEM, MRCS, FRCA part I
- oIntercalated BSc or equivalent Higher degrees including MSc, PhD or MD
- oPublications in recognised medical or academic journals
- oEvidence of a teaching qualification

- oEvidence of good career progression as demonstrated by full employment history
- oCompetence in independent management of medical emergencies
- oEvidence of independently leading teams , Experience of management and problem solving
