Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Service Manager to join our expanding Women's, Children's, Radiology and Outpatients Directorate.
This role will will work both operationally and strategically across the breadth of the WCRO Directorate.
This role is ideal for any candidate looking to broaden their NHS experience and work with a great team to support your development.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for ensuring all the clinical services are delivered safely and effectively meeting the agreed OP waiting times and18 weeks referral to treatment (RTT) guidance
Ensure all admin staff are trained and adhere to the highest standards to ensure patient and clinical details are accurately and comprehensively recorded, in a timely manner, on the appropriate system according to agreed standards to ensure records for RTT and patient tracker Lists (PTL's) are accurate and reliable
Responsible for managing the admin teams to include recruitment and retention, sickness management and performance management as and when required
To undertake improvement projects as and when required using the tools of Continuous Quality Improvement and project management
Responsible for working with the clinical teams to ensure all clinics and theatre scheduling is effectively co-ordinated for gynaecology services and all theatre lists scheduled are used efficiently
The post holder is responsible for ensuring that information requirements, data analysis and reports are interpreted and appropriate to the needs of the services to support good decision making and are presented to the services and the divisional management team

Essential
- Degree level or equivalent experience
- Certificate or diploma in management or equivalent experience
- Evidence of sustained and continued learning and development in admin/service administration
Desirable
- MSc in healthcare related subject
- Formal service improvement methodology training e.g. LEAN, Six Sigma.
- Formal project / change management qualification e.g. PRINCE2
Experience

- Experience within a healthcare setting related to service Team management and managing staff in a period of change/ transition
- Excellent interpersonal skills with experience of communicating widely in different formats to different stakeholders, staff and patients building relationships with stakeholders
- Experience in managing teams to ensure day to day operational management is efficient and effective as well as motivating teams
- Experience of service improvement and application of service improvement tools to advise and coach others
