Job summary

This post is one of continue development, as a Trainee Medical Engineering Technician. You will be supported to gain the new skills and learning you require to carry out the job role as well as preparing you for future employment and career progression within the health sector.

There will be an apprenticeship programme that the successful applicant will be required to undertake.

You will be required to carry out tasks under the direct supervision of a Medical Engineering Supervisor in accordance with our ISO9001(2015) Certification.

The post will be based at Newton's Court with occasional accompanied travel to a variety of other healthcare premises.

Main duties of the job

Duties of this job are ensuring that low risk medical equipment is serviced, repaired and fit for purpose.

You will be working with various Clinical Engineers with different skills and competencies over several sites.

The role will include administration duties required for these processes in line with the Trust policies and procedures. There is frequent lifting and handling of equipment, tools, test equipment and components, so manual dexterity, involving good eye to hand coordination is essential.

Practice appropriate workshop techniques so that the department is clean and tidy to ensure a safe working environment for all staff

Have good interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to work independently or as part of a team and follow detailed instructions to work accurately.
