Job summary
This role requires the provision of robust governance leadership, ensuring that the Division provides high quality services and is fully compliant with all regulatory requirements to deliver strong quality governance, in support of the Divisional Chief Nurse and Divisional Medical Director.
This role requires an expert or professional clinical leader, passionate about risk and quality governance so that they partner with the operational and clinical leads to deliver best practice, proactive governance. Using key route cause analysis to make a positive change within the Division.
Main duties of the job
Lead the Patient Safety / Governance agenda for the Division and ensure that the highest standards of corporate and clinical governance are maintained. Key publications to be adhered to and to coordinate the delivery of - National Patient Safety Strategy, NHS Single Oversight Framework and NHS Contract - Quality Schedule.
Be managerially responsible for all aspects of the governance agenda, including being divisional lead for compliance with the registration requirements monitored by the Care Quality Commission
Take a lead in the Quality and Patient Safety Agenda ensuring that the quality of care in the Division, patient experience, patient safety and clinical effectiveness is of the highest standard, meeting national and local outcomes.
Be responsible for coordinating the implementation of actions and provision of evidence to support service improvement and compliance with organisational standards as part of the overall Assurance Framework - NHS Single Oversight Framework and the requirements of the NHS Contract through the Quality Schedule
Ensure that the Quality, Patient Safety and Risk Management Framework is embedded within the Division and there is monitoring in place to meet the requirements of Annex 2 of the NHS Single Oversight Framework 2019/20.
