Job summary
Working closely with the Aseptics Services manager and Accountable Pharmacist for Aseptic services, you will be supporting the implementation, monitoring and review of the quality management system in ensuring the safe and timely provision of chemotherapy.
Main duties of the job
To support the development, delivery and evaluation of the Aseptics and Cancer Pharmacy Service to ensure that the highest standards of service are continuously delivered to patients and stakeholders
o To act as one of the Authorised Pharmacists to final release aseptically prepared chemotherapy products for patient use - products prepared in the onsite aseptic unit, and outsourced products
o To deputise for the Lead Pharmacist Aseptics Services as required
o To assist in management of the Pharmacy Quality Management System (PQS) in Aseptics Services by completing Complaints, Deviations, Change Controls, updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)and GMP audits
o As part of the Aseptics service team, supporting to develop, deliver and evaluate the Trust's cancer services in line with the NHS Long Term Strategy for Cancer.
o To team-manage staff to ensure the effective operation of the services provided.
o To participate in any 7-day shift pattern as required by the service which may include weekend and Bank Holiday rotas.
