Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Quality Assurance Coordinator

The closing date is 19 December 2025

Job summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and hardworking individual to join our Respiratory and Sleep Physiology Department as a Quality Assurance Coordinator.

You will report to the Lead and Deputy Lead Respiratory and Sleep Clinical Scientists, and work closely with the Trust's Physiology IQIPS Accreditation Manager (Improving Quality in Physiological Services). You will support these individuals by completing administrative and coordination tasks related to the day-to-day and long-term quality assurance of the service.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop a career in healthcare quality assurance within a developing, forward-thinking, and regionally leading service. Full training will be provided in various systems and processes, including Quality Management software.

You will have the option to work from home one day per week, but will be required to work on-site at least one day per week at your chosen hospital site (Basingstoke, Winchester, or Andover Hospital). From time to time, you may need to visit the other hospital sites for completion of specific tasks or receive training.

Main duties of the job

The initial focus of the role will be to support the service in achieving IQIPS accreditation for the Andover Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) in lung function testing. This will then progress to the services at Winchester and Basingstoke Hospitals, followed by the inclusion of the Sleep Physiology Service. Once accreditation is achieved, you will play a key role in maintaining and continuously improving quality standards across all sites.

About us

You will work within a friendly and experienced team of nine Respiratory and Sleep Physiologists and one administrator.

Our vision is to provide outstanding care for every patient. Patient care is at the heart of what we do at our three sites: Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester and Andover War Memorial Hospital. Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides medical and surgical services to a population of approximately 600,000 people across Hampshire and parts of West Berkshire.

Our cultural ambition is to have a culture that places people at the heart of all we do, where we all belong, and where learning, improvement and excellence thrive.

We provide specialist services to people across the UK and internationally. We are one of only two centres in the UK treating pseudomyxoma peritonei (a rare form of abdominal cancer) and we are leaders in the field of tertiary liver cancer and colorectal cancer.

The trust employs more than 9,000 staff and has a turnover of over £500 million a year. As a Foundation Trust, we are directly accountable to our members through the governors. The Council of Governors represent the interests of their constituencies and influence the future plans of the Foundation Trust.
