We are excited to announce the position of theatre deputy team leader for the Hampshire Orthopaedic Centre, a new facility that opened in September 2025. This facility is a testament to our Trust's ongoing commitment to enhancing healthcare services in the region and working collaboratively with orthopaedic services across Hampshire and Isle of Wight to serve patients across our communities.

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated nurse/ ODP to support in the leadership of the theatre team for the Hampshire Orthopaedic Centre.

Excellent team working and communication skills are essential for this role along with a need to establish and maintain good working relationships within the multidisciplinary team and wider services to work collaboratively and co-operatively to enhance quality of care.

The successful candidate will provide direction and inspirational leadership to junior members of the multidisciplinary team; they will also be expected to work as an expert clinical practitioner providing high quality of care to patients and service users.

The postholder will support the theatre team leader in the management of general resources, both personnel and financial and to ensure the effective operation of the department whilst maintaining high professional and clinical standards.

Main duties of the job

To work predominantly in the scrub role to support Theatre Team Leader(s) in leading and managing the service within the department effectively and to deputise in their absence.To manage general resources, both personnel and financial, to ensure the effective operation of the department.The post holder will provide skilled specialist assistance in the delivery of high-quality patient care throughout the Operating Department. The post holder will be committed to providing research and evidence-based practice whilst working as part of, and leading a multi professional team.
