Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Occupational Therapist

The closing date is 24 July 2025

Job summary

We are excited to be able to expand our current rotations and, as a result, recruit to our Band 5 Occupational Therapy posts at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

There are opportunities to rotate across our Winchester, Basingstoke, and Andover sites on a variety of rotations and specialities throughout the patient pathway. These settings include surgery, ED, medicine, cardiology, elderly care, orthopaedics including trauma and elective, and stroke. We have just added a new rotation on our Andover site, which will broaden your experience in general rehabilitation. We look after patients with a plethora of conditions and complexities across all of these settings, with the aim of getting them back into the community as safely and independently as possible.

A rotation is a great way to begin your career or to continue developing your existing skills at a Band 5 level. You will be supported by experienced clinicians who will teach you the skills you need to deliver excellent patient care and progress your career.

If you have excellent communication skills, are eager to learn, and are passionate about providing outstanding patient care, we would love to hear from you.

You will notice that there are jobs listed under Winchester or Basingstoke on the site, please only apply once, as applications for either site will be considered for the cross-site rotation.

Main duties of the job

Assess and treat a variety of conditions across all rotations whilst working as part of a wider therapy team to promote and develop evidence-based care.

You will be expected to be partake in 7-day working and the in-service training rota as required.

A successful applicant will be expected to hold a manual driving licence or have access to their own car with business insurance, unless medically exempt.

About us

Our vision is to provide outstanding care for every patient. Patient care is at the heart of what we do at our three sites: Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester and Andover War Memorial Hospital. Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides medical and surgical services to a population of approximately 600,000 people across Hampshire and parts of West Berkshire.

Our cultural ambition is to have a culture that places people at the heart of all we do, where we all belong, and where learning, improvement and excellence thrive.

We provide specialist services to people across the UK and internationally. We are one of only two centres in the UK treating pseudomyxoma peritonei (a rare form of abdominal cancer) and we are leaders in the field of tertiary liver cancer and colorectal cancer.

The trust employs more than 9,000 staff and has a turnover of over £500 million a year. As a Foundation Trust, we are directly accountable to our members through the governors. The Council of Governors represent the interests of their constituencies and influence the future plans of the Foundation Trust.
