We have a fantastic opportunity for an energetic and dynamic Speech and Language Therapist, to join our team and lead the inpatient service at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital.
This team provides care to adult patients and we are committed to providing a high-quality service. We embrace change in the form of ongoing service development to make sure our patients are getting a modern, evidence based, effective service.
Main duties of the job
This post would be working closely with the inpatient lead at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital to ensure equity of care across sites. Your aim would be to provide quality care at the acute stage of the patient pathway, from critical care to general medical, and elderly care wards. Alongside your role in the operational management of the caseload, you would be providing clinical support for junior members of the team, in person or remotely, on both hospital sites.
The Speech and Language Therapy team run both Video fluoroscopy and Fibreoptic Endoscopic Examination of Swallowing (FEES ) services which you would take a key role in.

- oContinued Professional Development including evidence of reflective practice, in service training and courses attended and clinical governance gained
- oPost Graduate Courses relevant to adult communication difficulties and EDS
Desirable
- oEvidence of attendance of recognised managerial and leadership courses
- oEvidence of training in FEES and Videofluroscopy
- oEvidence of training in tracheostomy management
