Job summary

As the Paediatric Therapy Assistant for Child Health, you will be responsible for providing a high standard of therapy to paediatric ward-based patients and outpatients at BNHH, RHCH and AWMH.

You will work with the paediatric physiotherapists in the implementation and progression of rehabilitation programmes and therapeutic interventions. You will strive to enable patients to achieve their optimum level of independence in mobility and activities of daily living on the acute and rehab wards.

You will be responsible for the preparation, set-up and running of the paediatric therapy outpatient classes and hydrotherapy. You will participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team assisting with specified duties and take responsibility for the planning of your own work duties.

Main duties of the job

Clinical duties will include:-

? Supervising and progressing exercise programmes including paediatric patients.

? Gait re-education and progression

? To lead group sessions/classes

? Transfer assessment and practice with patients and carers

? To lead individual inpatient exercises sessions

To take responsibility for delegated caseload and report outcomes appropriately, including reporting urgent and important information promptly to the appropriate person.
