Job summary
We have an exciting and rare opportunity opportunity for an enthusiastic and dynamic clinical pharmacist to explore and gain experience in Antimicrobial Stewardship whilst covering maternity leave. This 12 month secondment would support further development of leadership skills and may provide an opportunity to specialise in this diverse field. We would consider supporting an experienced Band 7 pharmacist to progress to a Band 8a within this role. You will be joining our friendly and supportive Pharmacy, Infection Control and Microbiology & infectious Diseases teams in the provision of Antimicrobial Stewardship. The Trust has electronic prescribing and medical records, and hopes to implement the Pharmacy Antimicrobial ICNET module in 2025.
You will need:
- Clinical knowledge & understanding of antimicrobial stewardship
- Excellent communication, negotiation and leadership skills, to be used in support of multi-disciplinary teams

Main duties of the job
- Lead Pharmacist in antimicrobial stewardship (responsible for OPAT, multi-disciplinary training, guideline updates and antimicrobial ward rounds)
- Day to day clinical management of patients
- To lead, develop, deliver and evaluate the clinical pharmacy service for antimicrobial stewardship.
- To provide regular drug usage/expenditure reports, including opportunities for cost and quality improvement
- To ensure the effective management and development of staff, including line management, mentoring and supervision.
