Job summary

The CT department at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital is looking for a professional and enthusiastic Radiographer with a commitment to patient care to join our friendly and dynamic team.

Winchester is a historic cathedral city located in Hampshire on the South coast, with excellent transport links, only 1 hour train from London and close to the New Forest and South Downs National parks.

We currently have a vacancy for an enthusiastic, driven, and motivated Band 6 Radiographer, with a keen interest in CT.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in CT and experience of working within the NHS. The successful candidate must have at least 2 years' experience in radiography post qualification and be HCPC registered.

Main duties of the job

We are a busy, progressive unit, with a very friendly and caring atmosphere, we operate a seven day service, with cross-sectional Radiographers working as a team with the General Radiographers out of hours. We offer 3 Long day shifts per week, which provides excellentwork life balance. Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week variable shifts and candidates will be expected to participate in the out of hour's rota which includes weekends and nightshifts.

We have recently undergone a redevelopment programme and the department has the benefit of cutting-edge CT technology and provides staff with the exciting opportunity to work with the latest Canon Aquilion One Prism and Prime CT scanners. In addition to our main site in Winchester we have a Canon Prime CT scanner at our Community Diagnostic Centre Hospital in Andover.

We undertake a variety of examinations including Neuro, MSK, and Oncology, Cardiac Angiography and CT perfusions. We are a dedicated Stroke Centre, and work closely within the multidisciplinary team.

To proactively assist in the management of the CT scanning on a daily basis whilst fostering a safe and efficient environment for patients, staff and visitors.

To supervise, and teach junior radiographers, student radiographers and RDAs. Patient safety is maintained and patient experience is positive by treating all patients, relatives and colleagues with respect, dignity and courtesy in accordance with Trust values. Ensuring that at all times you act within your sphere of competence.
