Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Cardiac nurse to join the growing Cardiology team at Hampshire Hospital Foundation Trust. The organisation has recently opened a state of the art Heart Centre with two Cardiac Cath labs, we have a 27 bed inpatient ward with multiple dynamic teams collaborating to deliver high level cardiac care to our community.

This role will requires strong nursing leadership for the CCU and Cardiology ward, supporting both elective and non elective care. In addition, the role also supports the Heart Function Team, offering care across both sites of our hospital and the wider community.

Main duties of the job

The Clinical Matron has 24- hour accountability in a leadership role for quality, staff, finance and performance of their area. As the Clinical Matron you will practice as an autonomous senior leader within the boundaries of your scope of practice.

This role will requires:

  • Strong nursing leadership for the CCU and Cardiology ward,
  • Supporting both elective and non elective care.
  • Supporting the Heart Function Team, offering care across both sites of our hospital and the wider community.
  • Enhanced clinical skills and provide clinical expertise both within their own clinical environment and across the organisation
  • Be required to support the Organisational Strategy in the achievement of professional, operational and clinical governance objectives.
