Job summary

Are you interested in taking the next steps in your nursing career, working as a Clinical Matron for HHFT leading our Acute Assessment Unit and Medical SDEC at Basingstoke Hospital?

The Clinical Matron has 24-hour accountability in a leadership role for quality, staff, finance and performance of their area. As the Clinical Matron you will practice as an autonomous senior within the boundaries of your scope of practice.

Main duties of the job

As a Clinical Matron you will have:

Enhanced clinical skills and provide clinical expertise both within their own clinical environment and across the organisation as necessary, to support the Organisational Strategy in the achievement of professional, operational and clinical governance objectives.

Essential

  • Registered General Nurse on NMC Register or HCPC registration
  • Educated to Masters level or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and expertise gained through any combination of alternative study and/or work experience

Desirable

  • Management qualification

Skills & Ability

Essential

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Customer Service experience e.g. dealing with complaints.
  • Personnel management through HR processes

Experience and Knowledge

Essential

  • Supervisory experience - ability to manage, lead, inspire and co-ordinate staff
  • Wide range of autonomous experience at Band 7 or above in in ED/UCC/WIC/MIU/UTC

  • Knowledge of Change management tools and experience of implementing significant changes within a workplace
