Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Nurse Endoscopist to join our friendly and supportive team as we expand our services across HHFT and exciting new development in Andover War Memorial Hospital.
We are looking for an experienced Nurse Endoscopist to join our high performing endoscopy team. You will have JAG certification experience and will be able to function autonomously in both upper and lower GI endoscopy, managing all aspects of the patient pathway including prescribing appropriately for your patient case load.

The successful candidate requires excellent organisational and communication skills, and must be committed to providing high quality care, supporting the development of the Endoscopy Team and diagnostic service at HHFT.

As a member of our Endoscopy Team (Band 8a), you will be responsible for meeting both national and local targets as the service expands and develops in-line with both JAG and BSG requirements. Using advanced clinical skills, you will be assessing and diagnosing, treating, and prescribing care plans for our patients.

The Endoscopy unit provides facilities for patients who requireplanned/urgent/emergency Endoscopic procedures and interventional radiological procedures. The aim of the nursing and ancillary staff in the Endoscopy unit is to provide a safe, caring, and friendly service to the hospital and community.
The Endoscopy Service provides the following procedures:
Colonoscopy
- Oesophago-gastro-duodenoscopy (OGD)
- Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio-Pancreatography (ERCP) - not in Andover
- Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)
- Flexible Sigmoidoscopy
- Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy (PEG)
- Bronchoscopy/Thoracoscopy
- Endoscopic Bronchial Ultrasound (EBUS)
We are a highly motivated team running 8 Endoscopy suites across the 3 sites at Basingstoke North Hampshire hospital, Winchester Royal Hampshire County Hospital and Andover War Memorial Hospital. All staff members are expected to work across all 3 sites and potentially at Tadley. We are a fully JAG accredited Trust for all 3 sites unit, which is clinically excellent and receives outstanding patient feedback.
Advanced Endoscopy procedures are carried out daily by our highly skilled team of Endoscopists. This will give the successful candidate the opportunity to specialise in other areas
