Due to service expansion an exciting opportunity has arisen for a 1.0 WTE (37.5 hours/wk.) Band 6 Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist to join the Hampshire Hospitals Hand Therapy Team as part of the wider Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
This is a clinical role specialising in the assessment and treatment for a wide range of patients with Hand Therapy related conditions. You will have opportunity to use and develop your specialist Hand Therapy interventions including the provision of musculoskeletal rehabilitation, bespoke splinting (thermoplastic and neoprene) and complex functional assessments. You will work as an integral part of the team linking closely with Orthopeadic and radiology colleagues. You will be clinically supervised by a Band 7 Clinical Specialist Hand Therapist and have opportunities to shadow and learn from other specialist members of the team including Advanced Clinical practitioners and Consultant Practitioners. We have an active in-service training programme with close links to the orthopaedic teams and a weekly Multidisciplinary peer review meeting with Orthopaedic Hand Consultants and Radiologists. There is active regional collaboration and education with opportunities for funded attendance at regional Hand Therapy / Surgery education days. We actively support staff to work towards BAHT Accredited Hand Therapist Status.
The role is predominantly based in Basingstoke but may require clinic provision on other Trust sites.
Main duties of the job
