Job summary

The Server Support Technician is a key role in managing, maintaining and supporting the Trust's server and endpoint estate

Main duties of the job

  • Responsible for managing the Trust's Endpoint Protection & Management Infrastructure including:
    • Desktop & Server Security Patch management
    • Secure application delivery to the desktop - SCCM/InTune
    • Desktop build management - management of new builds/operating system deployments
    • Active Directory Administration - OU Structure, security group management, Group Policy management
    • Endpoint security & reporting - Antivirus, Encryption, Data Loss Protection of servers, desktops, laptops, smartphones, tablets
    • Advanced support for Endpoints (Desktops, Laptops, Netbooks, PDAs, Tablets)
    • Support for Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 to 2022
  • To work closely with the Security, Server and Desktop engineering teams to identify and remedy emerging threats through efficient patch and Anti-Virus management.
  • To support and maintain Endpoint management systems such as SCCM/InTune/MEM, System Center Endpoint protection (SCEP),
  • To manage the Server team incidents in the Trusts Incident management system
  • To build new virtual servers to specification to support project services
  • Maintain process/procedures for quick recovery of systems in the event of an unavoidable failure. Test those systems sufficiently often to instil confidence.
