Job summary
The role of an Endoscopy Practitioner is to provide and maintain a high standard of patient care in the Endoscopy department for patients pre- peri- and post- procedure, this role is a primary function in supporting the team for the optimal care of our patients. The delivery of high quality, effective and compassionate healthcare to the patients of Hampshire Hospitals Foundation Trust is the most important objective of the organisation.
Main duties of the job
The duties of the Endoscopy Practitioner include consenting patients, preparing sedation, monitoring the patient during the procedure, and providing after-care and instructions. The nurse's responsibilities may involve emergency measures during or after the procedure.
The post holder will be involved in the daily planning and organisation of the department under supervision of senior staff nurses and sisters and will rotate through all areas in the unit to achieve and maintain competence in all aspects of Endoscopy.
You'll also have the opportunity to rotate to other theatres and recovery room.

About us
The day surgery unit is expanding to create a second endoscopy room which will see an increase in our patient numbers. The aim of the nursing and ancillary staff in the Endoscopy unit is to provide a safe, caring and friendly service to the hospital and community.
The Endoscopy Service in day surgery provides colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy and gastroscopy.

- Professional UK registration e.g. NMC or HPC
