General Radiographer Band 5 - Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Location: Royal Hampshire County Hospital Winchester

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Radiographer to join our expanding team. The role is varied and you will have the chance to rotate through the different areas of general Radiography, Fluoroscopy, Theatre, Mobiles and our satellite department at Andover War Memorial Hospital. You will be able to develop and enhance skills and knowledge within our busy and friendly department. We provide a high quality imaging service to our local GPs, Outpatient, Inpatients and ED.

What we offer:

  • We have a seven-day working pattern
  • Complete training for the role.
  • Multidisciplinary working with different modalities including Radiologists, Clinicians and Nurses.

We are a friendly Radiology Department who undertake in excess of 340,000 examinations per year. The main facility is at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital and a satellite department at Andover War Memorial Hospital. We have four general X-ray rooms, one interventional room and provide a mobile and Theatre service. We are the main site for the Trust Stroke Service and elective orthopaedics.

This is an exciting time to join HHFT as the Trust plans to implement a fully managed equipment replacement programme in 2021. This will result in department refurbishment and installation of new imaging equipment with the latest technology

Essential

  • BSc or Diploma in Radiography
  • HCPC registration
  • Evidence that knowledge of general imaging is up to date

Desirable

  • Experience in image interpretation

Experience and Knowledge

Essential

  • NHS experience as a radiographer or student radiographer
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of radiographic procedures including IR(ME)R regulations
  • Computer literate

Desirable

  • Experience in more than one hospital
  • Experience of working with students

Skills and ability

  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
