Healthcare Support Worker (PACU)

Job summary

We are looking for hard working and proactive Health Care Assistant to join our team working at the Main Theatres Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (Recovery) at the North Hampshire Hospital.

The PACU has 11 beds spaces to serve 7 Operating Theatres, that cover a wide range of specialities including Orthopaedics/ Colorectal/ Hepatobiliary/ Urology/ Gynae and Obstetrics.

As an HCA working within the PACU, you will support practitioners on the immediate care of the post operative patient, as well as playing a crucial role in the efficient turnaround of the Theatre to maximise utilisation.

Main duties of the job

To work with supervision and guidance in providing and maintaining a high standard of patient care for those patients that went through surgery.

The post holder will be expected to circulate duties within the PACU and work as part of a multi-professional team when required. The post holder will also be required to collect patients from the ward, escort them to the anaesthetic room/theatre, providing comfort and support whilst maintaining respect, privacy, dignity and confidentiality.
