Job summary

Are you a creative, driven communications professional, who wants to make a difference to the health and wellbeing of the population of Hampshire? We are looking for a leader for our communication and engagement team, who can use best practice communication tools to inspire our 8000 colleagues, as well as ensure that Hampshire Hospitals is transparent and accountable to the public we serve.

Main duties of the job

You will be accountable for our charitable fundraising team as well as internal and external communications. You will work closely with colleagues across the Trust and across the wider health and care system.

  • Masters level qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced theoretical and practical knowledge within specialist field.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional, management and leadership development.

Experience & Knowledge

  • Developing, managing, and delivering external and internal communications and engagement programmes
  • Developing and managing public consultation and engagement programmes
  • Successful senior level partnership working with a wide range of internal and external partners - e.g., national, local government, other public- and private/third sectors

Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent written English and verbal reasoning
  • Presentation, influencing and persuading
  • Work accurately at speed and to tight deadlines
  • Solve complex problems (analyse/interpret/compare options and provide solutions in complex situations)

Ability to Manage

  • Building and managing communications teams to deliver strategic objectives and performance targets, including successful budgetary responsibility and control
  • Practical knowledge of staff development, mentoring and coaching
  • Experience of budget management
