Job summary
The Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Specialty Doctor in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, this is a substantive post.
Applications are invited for the post of Specialty Doctor in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, the appointed candidate will work alongside the two Consultants and the Associate specialist. The Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery serves a population of 350,000.
The hospital is excellently placed geographically, being near junction 15 on the M4, 75 miles from London and 35 miles from Bristol. It is in the midst of beautiful countryside sitting at the foot of the Marlborough Downs and just south of the Cotswolds.
Main duties of the job
The principle role of the post-holder is to be an active member of the team. The post-holder is expected to undertake clinics and contribute time and effort to the day-to-day clinical matters that may arise. The post-holder is expected to take a teamwork approach to relationships with other departments, clinic and theatre staff.

The programme follows the curriculum recommended by the SAC in Oral Surgery and will include the clinical study in oral surgery and opportunities for research.
1. The appointment will commence ASAP.
2. The terms of appointment are as for NHS Trust Doctor
3. The salary will be depending on qualifications and experience of the person appointed.
4. The appointee will be encouraged to participate in formal research and audit projects.
A provisional timetable (Year 1) for the post is included in Appendix 1 for each post
The appointee will attend clinics and manage patients under the care of:
Mr Ganesh Sittampalam, Mr Montey Garg and Mr Greg Gerrard
(In addition joint clinics may be available).
