Part time, 2 days a week (15 hours)

The post holder will be required to work 8:30- 17:00, with one hour for lunch, 2 days per week, one of the days will be a Friday. Our Community Dental Service has 4 dental clinics, within Wiltshire & Swindon. We work in domiciliary settings and within main hospitals therefore use of a motor vehicle is essential. You will join our team to provide care for our service users, those patients with dental needs outside of general practice, and be supported by a Senior Leadership Team, offering mentoring and support and experienced line management.

Main duties of the job
GWHFT Community Dental Service provides Urgent Dental Care, Special Care Dentistry, Paediatric Dentistry for children with additional needs, and Out of Hours Dentistry to the population of Wiltshire and Swindon. The post holder will use their skills to deliver services within the GWHFT Community Dental Service contract.
The Service covers Wiltshire and Swindon, and the post holder may be required to deliver services from any of our 4 sites and in domiciliary settings. The role may include participating in inhalation sedation lists, domiciliary care and epidemiological surveys.
The post holder will provide a wide range of dental treatment including all extended duties appropriate to a registered dental therapist working collaboratively with dentists within the community dental service. The work will be carried out within our community dental clinics, domiciliary visits and occasionally at our hospital sites in Swindon, Bath and Salisbury. There may also be opportunity to participate in Health Inequality Projects in collaboration with the Integrated Care Board.

- To plan the management of patients, often patients with additional needs, paediatric patients and patients with moderate to severe anxiety demonstrating an understanding of their physical and social needs
- To maintain any associated patients records following delivery of care
- To provide oral health advice, oral health plans and instruction to specific client groups with multiple complex needs and to provide advice and instruction to parents and carers.
- To carry out a significant range of clinical procedures/activities to a high standard and comply with all relevant local and national guidance.
