Weekend Ward Clark
Part time - 22.5 hours per week (Saturday and Sunday)
An exciting opportunity has arisen on the Critical Care Unit for a ward clerk to join our busy but friendly 12 bedded ward.
The Ward Clerk role is pivotal to the smooth operational running of the Ward/unit environment. Its purpose is to provide a welcoming and professional greeting service to patients and visitors, an efficient and high standard clerical service to the Ward/Unit. The Ward Clerk role prides itself in looking after the department area and supporting clinical and non-clinical staff every day.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual, who works well under pressure, is keen to learn, is a great team player but is self-motivated and can work independently when needed.
Main duties of the job
- Provides a reception service to patients, their families, carers and other health professionals, acting as first point of contact both on the telephone and in-person arrival
- Provides non-clinical advice, information or guidance to patients, their relatives or carer
- Admits patients directly to the ward/unit, ensuring positive patient identification and liaison with other health care professionals as necessary
- Locates, obtains and tracks any relevant medical records for both elective and emergency admissions
