Job summary
This role is offered on a part time basis of 20 hours per week, this means that candidates interested in working part time are encouraged to apply and will receive a salary on a pro rata basis.
Part time - up to 20 hours per week worked between Monday to Friday to meet service need (plus Saturday mornings on rotation once trained, every 1-2 months)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a current Sexual Health Adviser to further enhance sexual health provision provided by Swindon Sexual Health Department.
Main duties of the job
You will be flexible in your approach when supporting patients with diverse and complex sexual health requirements. You will nurture a non-judgmental culture and have a friendly and approachable attitude when dealing with sexual health patients.
We are seeking a candidate who thrives in a team setting and can demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, good sexual health knowledge and a strong awareness of associated issues.
The role is based at Swindon Health Centre but working across sites may be required.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, they provide specialist support to clinical colleagues for patients with more complex needs. Health Advisers coordinate the management, delivery and follow-up of positive results, assess psychosocial needs, and offer crisis intervention to patients facing sensitive or challenging circumstances.
The role is varied, demanding but professionally rewarding.

- Degree or Diploma in Nursing (Registered Nurse First Level), or CQSW / Diploma in Social Work, or a relevant degree in psychology, health, science, social sciences, health promotion or education

- A counselling qualification at certificate level
- A relevant postgraduate qualification relevant to the role e.g. a MSc in counseling, health promotion or public health
- Sexual and reproductive health BASHH competencies

- Substantial post qualification professional experience
- Experience of working within a sexual health service or related clinical setting
- Demonstrable counselling skills with patients, delivered face to face and/or remotely
