Are you passionate about improving outcomes for the neonatal babies? We are seeking an experiencedBand 7 Neonatal Specialist Speech and Language therapistto join our dynamic Neonatal therapy team.
This is an exciting opportunity to develop your expertise in a highly specialist area of neonatal speech and language therapy. In this role, you will work within our acute neonatal unit and follow-up clinics, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team including specialist physiotherapists, dietitians, occupational therapists, neonatologists, and specialist nurses.

Main duties of the job
- Provide specialist Speech and language assessments and interventions for neonates within the acute neonatal unit and follow-up clinics.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic, family-centred care.
- Act as a clinical expert and resource for neonatal speech and language therapy within the Trust.
- Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives through theImproving Togetherframework.
- Support and mentor junior staff and students, promoting best practice and professional development.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in line with professional and Trust standards.

Qualifications
Essential
- Diploma or degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- HCPC registration
- Evidence of CPD in Neonatal specialty
- Evidence of recent study at MSc level or equivalent
Desirable
- Recognised post graduate qualifications
- Willingness to undertake further training
Experience
Essential
- Relevant postgraduate Speech and Language Therapy NHS clinical experience, preferably inclusive of neonatal care
- Knowledge and experience of a range of assessment and interventions/approaches in neonatal and paediatric care
- Knowledge of child development, common neonatal and paediatric conditions and indepth knowledge of developmental disabilities and factors influencing early infant development
- Experience in developing the SLT's role
- Experience of working in a wide range of clinical areas
Desirable
- To demonstrate an understanding of internal and external factors affecting Speech and Language Therapy provision
- Experience in collecting and evaluating audit and quality assurance programmes and participating research
- Previous experience in applying Clinical Governance to practice
