We're looking for dedicated Practice Assessors to play a vital role in supporting and assessing Student Nursing Associates (SNAs) and Registered Nurse Degree Apprentices (RNDAs). Main duties of the job

Join us as a Practice Assessor and play a key role in shaping the next generation of nursing professionals. You'll provide fair, evidence-based assessment of Student Nursing Associates and Registered Nurse Degree Apprentices, ensuring they develop the clinical competence, professionalism, and confidence required for safe, high-quality patient care. Working closely with Practice Supervisors and Academic Assessors, you'll help create a supportive learning environment, offer constructive feedback, and guide students through meaningful learning experiences that promote reflective practice and professional growth.

In this vital role, you'll uphold NMC standards, maintain accurate documentation, identify learning needs early, and contribute to the continuous improvement of assessment processes. Qualifications

Essential

  • Post-graduate degree level study or equivalent experience
  • Teaching and assessing qualification (e.g., FLAP or equivalent)
  • Registered Nurse with extensive acute clinical experience at ward level

Desirable

  • PTLLS or willingness to work towards
  • Further or Higher Education Teaching Certificate or equivalent

Experience

Essential

  • Experience teaching and training adults, formally and informally
  • Current experience working within an acute clinical setting
  • Experience acting as a Student Mentor or equivalent supervisory role
  • Achievement of a variety of clinical skills competencies

Desirable

  • Experience in quality improvement initiatives
  • Understanding of audit processes
  • Experience of formal teaching/training delivery
  • Medical or Surgical nursing background
