Are you a motivated and skilled Pharmacy Technician looking to work in an exciting and fast-paced clinical environment? We're seeking a proactive and patient centred Pharmacy Technician to join the multidisciplinary in our Emergency Department.
Main duties of the job
In this pivotal role, you'll help ensure that patients in the ED receive safe, timely, and effective medicines. You'll work closely with pharmacists, doctors, nurses, and support staff to deliver a high-quality clinical pharmacy service at the frontline of acute healthcare.

Support the clinical pharmacy team in providing accurate, efficient, and patient-focused clinical pharmacy service.

Undertake medicines reconciliation for patients admitted via the ED.

Supply and manage emergency and critical care medicines, ensuring availability and compliance with legal requirements.

Support safe storage, handling, and dispensing of medicines within the department.

Liaise with wards, dispensary, and procurement teams to resolve stock and supply issues promptly.

- oKnowledge of pharmaceutical technical procedures acquired through training, NVQ3, BTEC in pharmaceutical science or equivalent
- oProfessional registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (registration number required)
- oAccredited Checking Technician qualification
- oAccredited medicines optimisation qualification
- oAdditional training for checking dispensed prescriptions, supervising a technical area within the pharmacy to degree or equivalent level
- oKnowledge of medicines management, including relevant legislation and policies acquired through NVQ3 or BTEC equivalent level qualification plus specialist training and experience to degree or equivalent level
