Job summary
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Sister/Charge Nurseto join our dynamic team on theChildren's Ward and Paediatric Assessment UnitatGreat Western Hospital, Swindon.
This is a busy, friendly acute unit caring for children aged 0-18 with a wide range of conditions including surgery, oncology, orthopaedics, and ENT. The ward comprises 22 inpatient beds alongside an adjacent Paediatric assessment unit.
This role is ideal for a Registered Nurse with Paediatric experience who is committed to delivering high-quality care and has strong leadership skills. You'll be responsible for motivating and supporting staff across the unit, ensuring safe and effective care, and leading on quality improvement. You'll also help shape team objectives and support ongoing development opportunities for staff.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the daily clinical and operational management of the Children's Ward and the Paediatric Assessment Area and the professional development of staff.
The ward manager will have continuing responsibility and accountability for their team and provide transformational leadership to promote a positive culture in which a highly motivated nursing team can flourish. The ward manager will lead and manage the nursing team in delivering high quality care to young people and children.
