Job summary

A Senior Health Care Support Worker (SHCSW) is a core member of the team delivering direct care to patients and supporting registered practitioners to deliver high quality, compassionate health care to people in accordance with assessed needs and a care plan. Dove Unit is a specialist haematology ward caring for patients who have stem cell transplants, malignant haematological conditions; the Unit delivers systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT).

Main duties of the job

You will carry out a range of clinical and non-clinical healthcare, or therapeutic tasks, under the direct or indirect supervision of the Registered Nurse, in accordance with the Trust values.

There will be opportunities to develop your knowledge and skills, and training will be provided to ensure you have the required skills specific to this area of work.

Essential

  • Level 3 (SCQF - 6): - City and Guilds 3, NVQ 3 or BTEC National Diploma.
  • GCSE A*-D in English Language, Maths/ Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Math's or equivalent.
  • Equivalent experience together with Level 2 qualification & working towards Level 3

Desirable

  • Level 2 QCF Diploma in Clinical Healthcare support Or Level 2 NVQ in Healthcare Health & Social Care Or Level 2 in Health & Social care (NVQ, QCF, RQF)
